Morning Praises by Bri Bazemore

Peace meets us in the morning

Sunrays dancing on the walls

We sang praises last night

Haphazard sheets

Fingers intertwined

We exist in the morning after

Fuzzy brains asking did this really happen

Or am I just dreaming it was you

Soft caresses on your back

Soft kisses on my forehead

I can feel love in the sun

Rays dancing on the walls

We sang praises last night

Loud symphonies of booms and ahhs ring in my ears

I just realized your hands are rough

You wipe crackling out of my eyes

We hum along together

Rocking to the booms

Swaying to the ahhs

Still existing in the morning after

Feeling love in the sun

As our rays dance along the walls
