My name is Aaliyah Pattison, I’m 18 years old and I’ve been making art for all of my life but I got more serious about it towards the end of 7th grade. I was in an art program called VAPA in all of my high school years. That program really allowed me to grow and explore different mediums and techniques. Art is my main way of expression because I’m not overtly emotional. All of my art is a little piece of me In different emotions.

Serenity

5×7, Acrylic paint

“I made this piece to represent a sense of peace. I wanted people to see this piece and not just see beauty in a scenery but to be overwhelmed by calmness.”

You Have Time

“This piece was made for an aunt of mine who is going through a tough time and I wanted her to have this just for a little hope. I wanted her to know she doesn’t need to rush to be perfect or get her “shit together”, she can go at her own pace.”

Fully Charged

5×7, Acrylic Paint

“Life is hard draining, but there’s that one moment in the morning after a good nights rest where everything is just nothing. You sit up and you don’t really know what’s going and you forget your entire life for a split second, and you feel charged and awake. I wanted to represent this in this piece”

Diva on the Farm

“This piece was just for fun. I saw this girl with a cow print makeup look on Pinterest and I fell in love with it. She just looks like a girl who thinks she’s already made it and is better than everyone else.”
