carnations by Miranda Magaña

somehow
carnations seem to find me
six feet below and behind me,
in crystal vases,
on the namesake of the street
on my skin,
in the ink
and now, in the granite stone
where i never thought
we’d have to meet.

Miranda Magaña is a self-taught artist born and raised in Oxnard, California. She graduated UCLA in 2021, majoring in Spanish and Portuguese & Brazilian Studies. When she is not studying, she is often playing her guitar, the piano, or working on her paintings. She enjoys working with all mediums- digital, musical, watercolors, acrylics, paper mache, and more.
