DSL was raised in a Moroccan family in Southern California. Music became a refuge when her peers picked on her in high school, mocking her lips with the moniker “DSL.” When she began to release her own music as a gender studies student at UCLA, she decided to reclaim the title. A musical ethos of empowerment followed, with DSL channeling her valley girl attitude into her music.

“Music unleashed a power in me I didn’t know I had,” says DSL. “That’s what I want to give back. I honestly believe we all have that inner baddie and that shit is like pandora, once it comes out its not going back in. If I can do that for one person, I will consider myself a success.”
DSL’s previously released singles have garnered over five million streams globally and were featured on Spotify’s “Feelin’ Myself” and “Pressure” playlists. In 2022, DSL collaborated with producer Project Pat on her track “Girls Gone Wild” while her single “POOF” appeared as a top trending song on TikTok. Stay tuned for more music from DSL to come soon.
